AI-generated answers are changing the way people explore questions. That does not mean every business needs a separate “AI SEO” playbook full of new jargon. It means the information on your site has to be easy to find, understand and trust.
Answer the question behind the search
A service page that only says “premium solutions” leaves both people and search systems guessing. Explain the service, who it is for, what is included, where you work and what happens after an enquiry. Add real examples when you have them. Keep contact details and business facts consistent.
Google’s guidance for AI features says the same SEO fundamentals apply to AI Overviews and AI Mode; there is no special technical requirement for inclusion. A page still needs to be eligible for Google Search, and visibility is never guaranteed.
Structure helps the reader first
Use descriptive headings, short explanations and a simple path to deeper detail. A FAQ can be useful when it answers actual questions from sales calls. Structured data can describe visible facts, but it should match what the page really says. It cannot rescue a thin page.
Where to begin
Choose one important service. Read its page as someone who has never spoken to you. If they still need to call to learn the basics, write those answers down. Good answers are useful whether a person arrives from a traditional result, an AI feature or a link from a friend.
Give the answer enough context
Someone asking an AI tool for help is often looking for a decision, not a list of keywords. A page that explains who a service is for, what is included and when it is a poor fit gives the answer more substance. Use clear headings, direct answers and examples. Name the author or business behind important advice so a reader can judge the source.
The basics still matter: pages should be crawlable, linked from your site and useful on their own. Our guide to customer-led FAQs shows one practical way to turn repeated questions into helpful pages.
Measure what you can, admit what you cannot
AI interfaces change quickly, and many do not give site owners a complete report of every mention or referral. Track qualified enquiries, search queries, useful page visits and the questions people bring into conversations. Treat a screenshot of an AI answer as a moment in time, not a permanent ranking. Keep improving the underlying information that makes the business worth citing.
A sensible first pass
- Answer one common customer question on a real page.
- Show who wrote or reviewed important advice.
- Link related pages so the full story is easy to follow.
